Abby Perez (CV)
Abby F. Perez is a graduate research assistant in Urban and Public Affairs at the University of Louisville. She received her BA in English at the University of Louisville, and her MA in English Rhetoric and Composition from Morehead State University. Her research focuses on homelessness as a crisis, the criminalization of poverty in America, issues of social equity, and the politics of race. Her doctoral dissertation ethnographically examines how ‘home’ is conceptualized within the processes of homelessness, and what COVID-19 shows us about the weaknesses in our already insufficient social support infrastructure for the homeless (or those at risk).
