UPA Building

 

The UPA Building — also known as the Old Standard Oil Building — occupies land that was once part of the Standard Oil Company’s Main Louisville Works. The building, which sits at 426 West Bloom Street (formerly ‘B’ Street) was built in 1904 and served as the company’s Louisville headquarters.

Today, the building is owned by the University of Louisville and is formally known as the Center for Urban and Economic Research (building code CO). owned by the University of Louisville and houses the Department of Urban and Public Affairs. Its 39,000 square feet includes faculty offices, classroom space, group meeting and study areas, and a computer lab. Related Centers and Institutes are also located within the UPA Building.
